- Who can apply to RE-You Project’s Renewable Energy Trainings?
Young people who are between the ages of 18-29 and who have graduated from the relevant departments of Engineering, Science and Technical Faculties (4 years) and technical schools (2 years) with the necessary qualifications will be able to benefit from the training program.
- What do the trainings offer?
At Balıkesir University and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, theoretical and practical trainings will be given in the fields of wind, photovoltaic and biogas energy within the scope of Level 5 National Occupational Standards (UMS). In addition to renewable energy systems training, trainees will also receive training on career and personal growth (like motivation, time management, communication, entrepreneurship, management, and organization). The training’s language is Turkish.
- Where will the trainings be held?
Theoretical and practical training will be given at Balıkesir University and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. Trainees can choose one of the two universities according to their preferences.
During the training, both practical (use of laboratories that are found in both universities and field visits to renewable energy companies in the South Marmara Region) and theoretical lessons will be given.
- Can I attend all 3 trainings: wind, photovoltaic, biogas?
During the application process, candidates will be asked to rank among energy systems (wind, photovoltaic, biogas) according to their fields of study and interests. Each trainee will be able to attend only one renewable energy system training.
- What is the duration of each energy system training?
Each energy system training will last for 15 weeks.
- Is EKAT Training also included in the 3-month training process?
No, EKAT training will be held separately.
Employment Authorization Certificate training will be given for Electric Current Facilities (EKAT) that meets EKAT requirements from 240 technicians who have been successful by taking renewable energy trainings and career-oriented courses for 3 months. For this reason, successful technicians who will participate in renewable energy trainings and career-oriented courses for 15 weeks will also receive EKAT training, which will last for 1 more month (EKAT training is planned to start in September 2023).
According to the 59th and 60th articles of the Electrical Current Facilities Regulation (EKAT) published in the Official Gazettte dated 30.11.2000 and numbered 24246, technicians must receive this training to work at substations and do internships.
The trainings will be held in Manisa, İstanbul or Antalya, depending on the availability of the authorized institutions.
The training will be for 1 month and the trainees are going to stay in the guesthouse of the training center.
Meal costs will be covered by the project (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Successful trainees who pass the exam will be entitled to “Permit to Work Under High Voltage in Electric Power Plants”.
- Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training included in the 3-month training process?
No, Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training will be held separately.
Trainees who have only received training in the wind field and are successful will also attend the 5-day Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training (https://www.globalwindsafety.org/) and receive a certificate if they are successful.
- Is attendance mandatory for trainings?
In order for the trainees to take the final certification exams, they must attend at least 85% of the courses throughout the training program.
- Will the attendees be awarded valid certificates?
Successful trainees will receive Level- 5 Vocational Qualification Certificate recognized by the Vocational Qualifications Authority if they are successful in the exam held at the end of the training.
Also, successful trainees will be provided with the opportunity to do internships in renewable energy companies in different cities of Türkiye and to participate in relevant congresses/fairs.
- Will the training be face to face? Can I participate online?
The training will be face to face. There is no online participation.
- What expenses are covered in Renewable Energy Trainings?
All RE-You activities are free. Therefore, people who introduce themselves as RE-You officials and demand money as an application fee for RE-You services should not be respected.
Round trip expenses of the trainees to Çanakkale/Balıkesir (once only) will be covered by the project. Depending on the city of residence of the trainees, the most suitable travel option (plane, bus, train journey) will be selected.
During the 15-week training period, if the trainees want to go out of the city on weekends for special reasons, their travel expenses will not be covered by the project.
During the 3-month training period of the trainees, accommodation and food expenses (breakfast, lunch, dinner) 7 days a week will be covered by the project.
The trainees will stay in facilities such as dormitories, hotels, guesthouses, and lodgings in Balıkesir and Çanakkale. Accommodation details will be announced after the selection of candidates. Also, accommodation is free for trainees.
Pocket money will not given but all accommodation, and meals needs will be defrayed.
- What are the training dates?
The training program in Çanakkale will start in March 2023, and the training program in Balıkesir will start in April 2023.
- What will the training schedule be like?
There will be 4 to 8 hours of lessons per day, with each lesson lasting approximately 45 minutes, with a 15-minute break between each lesson. In addition, lunch will be provided to the trainees every day of the training.

- I am in the last year, can I apply for trainings?
Those who have graduated from engineering, science, technical faculties and technical colleges of universities (fall semester graduate requirement of 2022-2023 academic year) or those who have not been dismissed after graduating from the school are required to obtain a “Temporary Graduation Certificate”.
Graduation Certificate from e-Devlet (https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/yuksekogretim-mezun-belgesi-sorgulama) must be uploaded during the applications.
The project office may contact the candidate and request the originals of the documents to confirm the accuracy of the information declared during the application.
- I am a Master’s/PhD student, can I apply for training?
Yes, if you are between the ages of 18-29, you can apply for training as a Master’s or PhD student. Attendance to classes is mandatory. Please read the application conditions carefully.
- I am a high school graduate. Can I apply for training?
No, high school graduates cannot apply for training.
Also, successful trainees will be provided with the opportunity to do internships in renewable energy companies in different cities of Türkiye and to participate in relevant congresses/fairs.
