The RE-You internship program, implemented from July to September 2024, brought together 36 eager participants across 15 companies in Turkey, marking a significant step in merging theoretical education with real-world experience in the renewable energy sector.

Before starting their internships, participants underwent mandatory two-day Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training in Balıkesir. This critical training aimed to minimize the risks associated with occupational accidents and illnesses, particularly given that the renewable energy sector is classified as involving “very hazardous jobs” under current regulations. Ensuring all interns were equipped with essential safety knowledge prioritized the safety of program participants.

Following the OHS training, interns began gaining practical experience at various companies across Turkey. The program was meticulously planned with clear communication and ongoing support, proving effective in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical application.

The RE-You internship program not only provided trainees with the opportunity to develop their skills in the renewable energy sector but also addressed the growing demand for skilled labor in the industry. Successful placements demonstrated the program’s effectiveness, benefiting both the participants and the renewable energy companies involved. This initiative highlights the potential for future collaboration and growth within the industry, as these young professionals bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the evolving energy landscape.

Through their internships, participants are gaining valuable insights and experiences, positioning themselves as future leaders in renewable energy and paving the way for a sustainable energy future in Turkey.
