On October 19, 2022, the second Biogas Curricula Development Workshop took place in Çanakkale, facilitated by Prof. Osman Yaldız and Dr. Mustafa Tolay. The workshop gathered 34 participants to review and discuss updates on the biogas training program.

During a laboratory tour, participants observed demonstrations of equipment used in biogas plants, showing how these tools apply to real-world scenarios. This hands-on experience was designed to help trainees understand common challenges and solutions encountered in the field, participants widely appreciated for its practical value.

The workshop also delved into the complexities of biogas plant planning and construction, covering the latest global technologies and innovations. Special emphasis was placed on occupational health and safety (OHS), as biogas plants present unique safety challenges compared to other renewable energy sources like solar and wind. To address this, the OHS module in the biogas curriculum was expanded. Participants expressed strong support for the training program’s blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, affirming their commitment to continued collaboration and underscoring a deep sense of ownership in the project.
